Skoda Scala Diesel Radiator Oil Pressure Defective Error
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Skoda Scala diesel is experiencing a 'radiator oil pressure defective' error, with the transmission stuck in emergency mode and abnormal gear shifts. The issue is suspected to be caused by a defective cable or plug connection. After taking the car to a workshop, it was confirmed that a faulty connection to the oil cooler was the cause, and replacing the part resolved the problem.

Thanks for the quick response! The coolant level seems fine, and I haven't noticed any visible leaks. However, I haven't specifically checked the oil cooler area. When you experienced this with your BMW, did the diagnostic tool also point to a pressure issue, or did it indicate something else? Any specific codes I should be looking for?

In my case with the BMW, the diagnostic pointed towards a general transmission malfunction initially. It wasn't until they dug deeper that they found the correlation with the oil cooler and pressure regulation. Given your symptoms and the error code, a faulty connection seems plausible. However, I'd still recommend having a professional check the oil cooler itself for any internal damage. It's better to be safe than sorry. I would suggest you take it to the workshop.

Just letting you know the workshop confirmed a faulty cable/plug connection to the oil cooler was causing the radiator oil pressure issue. They replaced the part, cleared the error memory, and everything is running smoothly. The total cost was 95€, as estimated. Thanks again for your input!

That sounds like the issue I had with my previous BMW 3 Series. The transmission was acting up, and the cooling fan seemed to be running constantly even when the engine wasn't particularly hot. Did you check the radiator coolant level? Any signs of coolant leaks near the oil cooler or around the cooling system hoses? It might be worth doing some leak detection before replacing parts.
