SMAX Hybrid Fuel Consumption Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Ford SMAX Hybrid with 112,463 km is experiencing increased fuel consumption, reduced engine power, stalling at idle, and smoke during acceleration. The issue is suspected to be fuel-related, possibly due to a faulty injector. After checking for leaks and ruling out bad fuel, it was advised to consult a workshop. The problem was identified as a defective cable connection to an injector, which was repaired, resolving the issue.

The engine was serviced recently. I doubt it's bad petrol; I always fill up at the same station. You mentioned an engine check - what exactly should I be looking for?

Okay, just ruling out the simple stuff. Since you're seeing multiple symptoms like stalling and smoke, and you've checked for leaks, it really does sound like an injection issue. Especially on a hybrid, I wouldn't mess with it. A workshop would be best, I'd say.

You were spot on! Took it to the shop, and it turned out to be a defective cable connection to an injector. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Runs like new now! Thanks for the advice!

Sounds rough. When was the last time you had your engine checked? Is there any chance it could be bad petrol?
