Hey! Glad to help update you on this. Yeah, I just got my QX50 back from the shop last week actually. The whole job came to 90 Euro pretty reasonable considering how important proper brake function is. The mechanic managed to fix that annoying pressure sensor signal error that was triggering the warning lights, and they did a thorough job bleeding the ABS system correctly. Since the repair, everything's been running like a charm brake pedal feels nice and firm again, all those pesky warning lights are gone, and the ABS is working perfectly. No more sponginess or weird behavior at all. Honestly, it's like driving a different car now! I got lucky finding a shop that knew what they were doing with these Infiniti systems. Having that air properly purged from the brake lines made all the difference. If you're still looking for someone to sort yours out, I'd definitely recommend getting it done properly with the right diagnostic equipment it's worth every penny for the peace of mind alone!
Thanks for all the details! Just got back from the mechanic myself and wanted to update you guys. Found a specialist who really knew their stuff with Infinitis. They did exactly what you mentioned proper bleeding of the ABS system and fixed that tricky pressure sensor. Cost me about 110 Euro, but totally worth it! The brake pedal's back to normal, those annoying warning lights are gone, and the car feels so much safer to drive now. Still can't believe how much difference proper bleeding made guess my old mechanic really did mess things up. The new place used all the right diagnostic equipment and took their time explaining everything. Really glad I asked here first saved me from going back to that other shop that probably would've just made things worse. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction. My brakes are working perfectly now, and I've finally got a reliable mechanic I can trust. What a relief!
Here's how I'd respond: I had a similar issue with my 2014 Infiniti QX50 diesel last summer. The symptoms you're describing sound exactly like what I experienced spongy pedal and warning lights. Turned out my brake system wasn't bled properly after a routine brake fluid change. Took it to my current garage, and they found air bubbles trapped in the ABS module. The whole brake system needed a proper professional bleeding with a diagnostic computer to cycle the ABS pump. It was quite a serious issue because trapped air in the brake lines can cause brake failure. The mechanic had to use special equipment to bleed the ABS module correctly. It's not a job for your average DIY brake bleeding procedure. After they fixed it, the pedal feel returned to normal, and all warning lights went off. My advice: find a shop that specializes in Infiniti or at least has the proper diagnostic tools for bleeding ABS systems. Poor bleeding technique is often the root cause of these symptoms.
