Stagea fuel pump issue
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Nissan Stagea was experiencing starting issues, stalling, rough idling, increased fuel consumption, and a check engine light, leading to suspicions of a fuel pump problem. The issue was identified as a corroded electrical connector on the fuel pump, causing intermittent failures. Cleaning and replacing the connector resolved the problem, restoring the car's performance.

Thanks! Did you have all the same symptoms? What did you do to figure out what was wrong?

Yep, all those symptoms were present. Honestly, I poked around a bit, checked the obvious stuff, but ended up taking it to a workshop. Best advice I can give you is to get it properly diagnosed. Save yourself the headache of chasing ghosts.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a mechanic and you were right. The fuel pump's electrical connector was corroded, causing intermittent failures. They cleaned it, replaced the connector, and it cost 95€. The car is running smoothly now. Thanks again for steering me in the right direction!

I had something similar happen with my Stagea. Engine stalling, rough idle, the whole shebang. Sounds like your fuel pump is acting up. Check those connections like you mentioned; a loose or corroded plug can cause all sorts of headaches. Think of it like a faulty wire on a Christmas tree light – one goes bad, and the whole string flickers.
