Tahoe MAF Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe with a diesel engine is experiencing high fuel consumption, stalling at idle, a check engine light, and smoke on acceleration. These issues may be caused by a defective MAF (Mass Airflow) sensor, which affects the air/fuel mixture. Replacing the MAF sensor resolved similar problems for another Tahoe owner, and following this advice led to a successful repair.

Thanks. I did inspect the air filter; it looked okay. What was your solution? Did you replace the MAF sensor?

Yep, I ended up having to replace the MAF sensor. That fixed everything! Honestly, I'm no mechanic, so I just took it to a trusted workshop. They confirmed the bad sensor right away. Maybe you should consider doing the same? Would save you a ton of headache!

Thanks! I took it to my trusted workshop as you suggested. They diagnosed a defective MAF sensor, and replacement fixed it. Total repair cost was 365€.

Hey! That sounds frustrating. I have a Tahoe, too. I had almost the EXACT same problems – the check engine light was driving me crazy! Higher fuel consumption, rough idling... It was the worst. Did you check your air filter? Sometimes a dirty filter can mess with the MAF sensor readings. The MAF or mass airflow sensor, measures the amount of air entering the engine so the engine control unit (ECU) can determine the correct air/fuel mixture.
