Thanks for the insight. I haven't checked the MOST bus connections specifically. Can you elaborate on where to locate those connections and what I should be looking for in terms of faults?

On my X3, the MOST bus connectors were located behind the head unit. I would advise against disassembling anything yourself if you're not familiar with the procedure. Given the symptoms and error code, the defective head unit is the most probable cause. I suggest taking it to a qualified workshop for diagnosis.

Understood. I appreciate the confirmation. I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed the infotainment system was indeed defective, and the repair cost came out to 815€. Thanks for your help!

I encountered a comparable problem with my 2019 BMW X3. The symptoms you describe mirror my experience. It might be an issue with the head unit's audio input module. Have you checked the MOST bus connections for any obvious faults?
