Battery connections? I gave them a quick look, but what exactly should I be looking for besides obvious corrosion?

Sometimes it's not just obvious corrosion. Check for tightness by wiggling the cables. Even if they look okay, a poor connection can prevent enough current. Given the symptoms and mileage, it's probably best to get it hooked up to diagnostics at a workshop if that doesn't solve it. Could save guesswork.

You were spot on! The battery cable connections were the culprit. Cleaned them, tightened everything, and she fired right up. Diagnostic was 80€, cable cleanup and reattachment 75€, so 155€ total. Thanks!

That's tricky. When did you last check your battery cable connections? A loose or corroded connection can cause no-start conditions. Did you notice any engine surge or other odd behavior beforehand?
