Tiida diesel particulate filter pressure issue
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Nissan Tiida diesel exhibited an engine warning light, reduced power, smoke during acceleration, and a strong exhaust smell, with a diagnostic error indicating 'diesel particulate filter exhaust pressure too low.' The issue was suspected to be related to the exhaust back pressure sensor. A similar case confirmed that replacing the sensor resolved the problem, leading to the successful resolution of the issue.

The symptoms appeared pretty quickly, almost all at once. Did you also get the 'diesel particulate filter exhaust pressure too low' error code, and did it point to the sensor?

Yes, that's exactly what happened with mine. Same error code and everything. I tried a few things myself, but in the end, I took it to a workshop. They confirmed it was the sensor. Best to get it checked out properly.

Thanks a lot for confirming. I appreciate the advice. I replaced the exhaust back pressure sensor, and that solved the problem. The part cost 245€.

I had something similar happen in my Tiida. Same symptoms: warning light, power loss, and the smell. It was intermittent at first.
