Traverse Hissing and Fuel Consumption
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Chevrolet Traverse owner reported higher fuel consumption, a check engine light, and a loud hissing sound when accelerating, suspecting an air intake system leak, possibly the intake hose. Another person suggested checking for cracks or loose connections around the throttle body, indicating a potential vacuum leak. The issue was confirmed to be a leaking intake hose, which was repaired at a workshop.

Thanks, I'll check the throttle body. Was your check engine light on constantly, or intermittent? And did you notice any performance issues besides the fuel economy?

My light stayed on. No performance issues besides the fuel economy dipping. Honestly, I'd get it checked by a workshop. Could be a cracked intake hose or something more serious with the turbocharger.

Appreciate the input. Took it to a workshop, and it was indeed a leaking intake hose. Repair cost me around 100€. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I had a similar problem with my Chevy Traverse. I didn't notice a hissing sound, but my fuel economy tanked, and the check engine light was on constantly. Have you checked around the throttle body for any obvious cracks or loose connections? Maybe it's a vacuum leak somewhere?
