Troubleshooting 2015 Dacia Logan's Blower Issues and Incorrect Defroster Flap Control

Blower does not work properly

Hey! I'm having a bit of a problem with my 2015 Dacia Logan with a Gasoline engine. The blower isn't working right and I'm guessing it might have something to do with incorrect defroster flap control. Anyone experienced something similar? Any tips on troubleshooting this issue? Keen to hear about your workshop experiences and fixes. Thanks in advance!

Hey there, I got a similar issue on my 2013 Dacia Sandero, petrol engine as well. I'm just a weekend mechanic with some experience, not a pro at all. Still, I managed to troubleshoot the issue which turned out to be a defective servomotor cable connection. Took it to my local garage, they fixed it pretty well. I paid 200 Euro for the repair, which wasn't too bad. Did you check your cables? It might be worth taking a look before you decide on anything else. If you share more details about your vehicle condition and symptoms, I might be able to guide you bit more. Best of luck!

Cheers for your insight! I haven't got around to checking the cables yet – will definitely do it. My Logan's mileage sits around 128742 km and I can't remember facing a similar issue before. This problem happened just after I got my car serviced last month. I thought I should raise this in the community before taking it back to the garage. I appreciate any additional guidance.

Ah, I see. Kinda odd that the problem sprung up just after the service though. Sometimes even professional mechanics can overlook some small stuff. That aside, another thing I'd suggest aboard checking those cables is ensuring if your blower motor resistor is functioning alright. That can cause issues too if it's faulty, given how it controls the speed of your blower fan. Same procedure as the cables really - check it for obvious signs of wear and tear, corrosion, or damage. If it seems fine but you're still not sure, you might want to consider getting it tested by a professional. Do give these a go and let us know how you get on. The garage can surely fix it but sometimes, we gotta roll up our sleeves, right? Good luck!

Legend! I really appreciate you taking the time to share these valuable suggestions. The blower motor resistor—now that's something I haven't thought about. Sounds like a potentially overlooked spot! You're absolutely right about rolling up our sleeves. I'm onto it this weekend. Let's see whether it's the cables or the resistor. I'll update the thread once I have more info. Thanks again! It means a lot. Cheers!
