Verso Diesel Mixture Preparation Error
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Toyota Verso diesel with 55,009 km is experiencing a mixture preparation error, indicated by a check engine light, loss of power, rough running, jerking during acceleration, and occasional stalling. The issue is likely related to the air-fuel ratio, with a defective fuel injector being a probable cause. The suggested solution is to visit a workshop for diagnostics, which confirmed the defective injector, leading to a repair that resolved the problem.

That's interesting! I did get an error code read, and it mentioned something about mixture preparation, possibly a defective injection valve or injector. So, with your Megane, what was the actual cause in the end? And how much did it set you back? I'm trying to brace myself for the worst here!

Ah, a defective injector is highly plausible given those symptoms. With my Megane, it turned out to be a faulty fuel injector that was causing the rich mixture. I suggest visiting a workshop. They ran some diagnostics and confirmed it pretty quickly. It ended up costing me around 450€ for the injector and labour. Given your error code and symptoms, I would prepare for a similar diagnosis. Sorry to be the bearer of potential bad news!

Thanks for the info! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. Turns out it was a defective fuel injector. The final bill came to 515€ including labour. At least now it's running smoothly again. Appreciate the help!

That sounds suspiciously familiar. I had almost the exact same symptoms with my old Renault Megane, although it was a petrol engine. Reduced power, check engine light, the whole shebang. The error code pointed to a 'rich mixture' which, if I remember correctly, means there's too much fuel in the mix. Did you get any specific error codes read? If so, what were they?
