Hey, I'm having a frustrating issue with my 2017 Toyota Verso diesel. It's got about 55,009 km on it. Recently, the check engine light came on, and the car feels like it's lost a ton of power. It's running really rough, jerks when I try to accelerate, and sometimes even stalls when I'm idling. I've tried looking for obvious things like loose hoses, but I'm no mechanic! Could it be something to do with the air-fuel ratio? I'm really hoping it's not a major engine problem. What could be causing this mixture preparation error?

That sounds suspiciously familiar. I had almost the exact same symptoms with my old Renault Megane, although it was a petrol engine. Reduced power, check engine light, the whole shebang. The error code pointed to a 'rich mixture' which, if I remember correctly, means there's too much fuel in the mix. Did you get any specific error codes read? If so, what were they?

Ah, a defective injector is highly plausible given those symptoms. With my Megane, it turned out to be a faulty fuel injector that was causing the rich mixture. I suggest visiting a workshop. They ran some diagnostics and confirmed it pretty quickly. It ended up costing me around 450€ for the injector and labour. Given your error code and symptoms, I would prepare for a similar diagnosis. Sorry to be the bearer of potential bad news!
