Hey there, Really appreciate your response, and it's nice to hear I'm not the only one who's dealt with this kind of hurdle with my Frontera. You know, your experience gives me a bit of hope, and I'm slightly less apprehensive about taking it back to the garage now. Just quickly though, you wouldn't happen to remember how much the whole shebang cost to fix, would you? And has anything else cropped up since they patched up your cooling system and mirror defroster? Cheers this is really helpful!
Hey! Glad to hear my experience gave you a bit of hope. As for the cost, it set me back by about 155.00 €. This covered the water valve plug that was spoiling the party, as well as the faulty cable connection. So nothing too extravagant, thankfully. Ever since I got it fixed, my Frontera's been just like a brand new one. No new hurdles on the heating front or issues with the mirror defrosting – touch wood! The cooling circuit water valve issue was fully sorted after their hands-on, and honestly, it was worth every penny. So don't be too wary of the mechanic. Sometimes, they're the only ones who can sort out these tricky issues. Stay cool and all the best with your Frontera's overhaul! Cheers!
Oi! Thank you! Your advice and experience indeed gave me that push I needed. It's a relief to hear that the cost wasn't too steep–guess it's worth the peace of mind, eh? You're right, sometimes you just gotta bite the bullet and trust the mechanics. A well-functioning Frontera is worth more than a bit of a grudge against a garage! Appreciate your time and the detailed responses. I'm certainly feeling a lot more confident about tackling this issue head-on now. Stay safe on the roads! Cheers!
Hey! I recently had a similar problem with my '01 Frontera. Turns out, my cooling circuit water valve was stuck, and it was also messing up my side mirror defrosting. My heating and cooling weren't running efficiently either. I took it to the garage and, bless them, theyaged to get it back up and running after a good old poke around. They had to replace the defective water valve plug and also had to sort out a bad cable connection that was messing with the electrically heated mirrors. Yeah, sounds like your problem falls right in the same alley. It was a fairly straightforward fix, nothing too serious, just a pain in the neck 'cos I had to go without the car for a couple of days. Just get back to your garage - sometimes there's nothing much you can do on your own. Good luck with it, hope your Frontera's back in top shape soon. Cheers!
