XC40 Windshield Wipers Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Volvo XC40 owner is experiencing non-functioning windshield wipers, with diagnostic checks indicating an error. The issue might be due to a defective cable or plug connection. A similar problem in another vehicle was resolved by addressing a faulty wiper motor, but since fuses and other electrical components are functioning, a professional assessment is recommended to diagnose and potentially fix the cable, plug connections, or wiper switch.

Fuses are fine, and the turn signals work. Since you had a similar issue with your Opel Astra, did you fix it yourself, or did you need a professional?

Turned out to be a faulty wiper motor for me. But since you have a stored error and checked the fuses, it's probably not that simple. Since it is the wiper switch and not the motor, I'd go to a trusted workshop. It cost me around 95€ including labor and parts. They will probably be able to diagnose the cable and plug connections.

I appreciate you confirming my suspicion and sharing your experience. Given the complexity, I will schedule an appointment with a qualified technician to assess the cable and plug connections, and potentially the wiper switch.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my 2016 Opel Astra. My wipers just stopped. Did you check the fuses? That was the first thing I looked at, though it wasn't the problem. Anything else unusual happening with other electrical, like the turn signals?
