Xsara clutch pedal switch issue

My 2000 Citroen Xsara with a gasoline engine is acting up. Clutch pedal switch is giving me an error code. Gear selection display in the speedometer is dead, cruise control won't engage, and sometimes it won't even start! Could a dodgy cable or plug really cause all this? Has anyone else seen anything like it?

Summary of the thread

A 2000 Citroen Xsara was experiencing issues with the clutch pedal switch, leading to problems with the gear selection display, cruise control, and starting the car. The core problem was identified as a faulty connection at the switch itself. The suggested solution was to check and fix the connections, which resolved the issues after a visit to a workshop.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I had a similar experience with my Xsara. Are you sure it's just the switch itself? All those symptoms seem linked. Check the connections first.

Connections, right. Where exactly did you find the problem on yours, wiring harness, or closer to the switch itself?

It was the connection into the switch itself. All those systems are interlinked and run through that switch. But honestly, with all those symptoms and mileage, I would suggest taking it to a trusted workshop and having them take a look.

Took it to the shop as you suggested. Turns out you were spot on, dodgy connection on the switch. 95€ later and she's running like a dream. Appreciate the help!
