XTrail Electrical Malfunctions and ECU Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Nissan XTrail Hybrid with 110,000 km is experiencing electrical malfunctions, including a full error memory and a non-functional navigation system. The mechanic suspects the issue is due to implausible programming of the control unit, specifically the ECU. The suggested solution involves either a software reset or a full re-flash of the ECU, which resolved the problem after reprogramming.

He suspects the ECU, and thinks it needs a software reset, or even a full re-flash. He quoted me around 240€ for the repair. Does that sound right? Is that what you experienced?

Yep, sounds like the same ECU problems I had. They tried a software reset first, but ultimately they had to reprogram the whole thing. Just take it to a workshop.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, as you suggested. They confirmed the control unit issue and reprogrammed it. Everything seems to be working fine now. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. I've got an XTrail too, and I had similar weird electrical gremlins. Was your mechanic able to pinpoint the exact module causing the problem?
