Yaris Mixture Preparation Error
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Toyota Yaris diesel is experiencing a mixture preparation error, indicated by a check engine light, reduced engine power, rough running, jerking during acceleration, and occasional stalling at idle. The issue may be caused by a defective injection valve or injector, as other components like the mass airflow sensor have been checked and appear fine. It is suggested to have the injectors inspected at a workshop to confirm the diagnosis and proceed with necessary repairs.

Thanks for the quick reply. Regarding the injectors, did you experience all of the same symptoms? Did you also have stalling problems at idle? I am trying to eliminate possible causes.

Yes, stalling at idle was definitely one of the symptoms, along with the jerking. Honestly, it sounds like the injectors. I'd get it to a workshop. I ended up paying 515€ for the repair.

Thanks for confirming. It seems likely that the injectors are defective. I will take it to a workshop to get it checked.

Hey! I had similar issues with my Yaris. Reduced power, rough running... sounds like a rich mixture problem, maybe the intake manifold? Have you checked the spark plugs and air-fuel ratio? It could be a faulty injector, as you suspect.
