Hey! Thanks for sharing your experience made me feel a lot less alone with this problem. Good to hear you managed to tame your Elantra beast, gives me a bit of hope for my i20. Sound like our Hyundais do share a tendency for the same tantrums! Now, just for the sake of my wallet's upcoming confrontation at the garage, any rough recall on how much did that cost you to replace the Battery Temp Sensor? And ever since you fixed it, any other issues popped up or is your Elantra really as smooth as silk since then? Cheers!
Hey there, I totally understand your concern about the impending mechanic bill, those can leave a nasty dent in your wallet. But in this case, it’s worth it. For putting my Elantra back on track, the bill clocked in at around 315.00€. Could be a shocker, I admit, but you'd surely agree it’s a small price for peace of mind and a smooth ride. I'm glad to report that since getting that battery temperature sensor sorted, the old girl's been humming along perfectly. Absolutely no other issues. The lights are behaving, the battery is hearty and fit, no more dramatic entrances. It seems that little mechanic magic touch did indeed chase away the gremlins! So, give your mechanic a shout, let them handle this problem. Your Hyundai deserves it. Trust me, having solved the issue makes it all worth it. Safe driving and let me know how it goes with your i20!
Thanks for getting back. That's actually a decent price considering the peace of mind it brings. Good on you for being on top of things with your Elantra! It’s quite comforting to know it’s been running so well after fixing that pesky little sensor. This weekend's agenda now includes a trip to the mechanic for sure. I'm relieved knowing that I’m probably dealing with a rogue battery temp sensor rather than some mystery issue. I'll give my mechanic the heads-up and keep my fingers crossed for a straightforward fix. Will update you on how it turns out for my i20. Cheers for all the help, and keep enjoying that smooth silk ride in your Elantra! Drive safe and see you around!
Hey! Faced a similar issue with my '11 Hyundai Elantra not too long ago. When I'd fire up the engine, lights would dim and everything seemed a bit 'off'. It turned out, you're on the money. It was indeed the Battery Temp Sensor acting all funky. Took it to my mechanic an old hand in the game. He conducted a proper diagnostic run which flagged the same problem. With his magic touch, the battery temperature sensor was replaced, and voila, the beast was back in its prime. Don't overlook it! It may seem like a small problem but this gremlin was serious enough to mess around with my battery performance, and overall electrical efficiency of the car, which ain't great news. After all that, the old girl is running smooth as silk, no more eerie lights or battery woes. Guess your Hyundai is having the same tantrum! Best of luck at the garage!
