Hey there, appreciate the advice! Yeah, it does feel like a War of the Worlds rerun with all these warnings and strange happenings. So it was the Electric Auxiliary Heater in your case huh? Well, seems like I might be heading the same way with my V40. Just wondering, do you recall how much you shelled out for fixing it? And has anything else cropped up since the fix or has your car been purring like a kitten? Thanks!

Hey, heh, those War of the Worlds vibes are all too familiar! Now as for the Electric Auxiliary Heater debacle, the hit to the wallet was around 350€. Not exactly pocket change, but still better than a missing kidney, right? As for the V40's crankiness after the fix, it's been running smoothly, touch wood. Those mechanics did a top-tier job fixing the faulty PTC heater so no more alien behavior or strange lights since then. Just make sure you find a decent mechanic this time, eh? Trust me, makes all the difference. Good luck with your ride!

Ah, that's really not too bad considering the peace of mind I imagine it bought ya. I'd rather dole out some cash and get the V40 back in form than constantly be in this suspense thriller, wondering when the next warning's gonna hit. Seems like the sensible thing to do would be to find a reliable garage and get the heater checked out. Your experience definitely puts things into perspective for me. Thanks for sharing! Hope my V40 behaves itself after the fix like your S60. Here's to no more alien behavior or strange lights, eh? Cheers!

Hey, I get you. My 2009 Volvo S60 ran into a similar bump a while back. Had the same warning light popping up and the coolant was mysteriously MIA. Bit like a bad movie, innit? Turned out, my suspicions were right - it was the Electric Auxiliary Heater not having a ball game. After reluctantly dragging my car to the garage (Entering the lion's den eh?), didn’t take long for them to pinpoint the drama - a defective auxiliary heating unit. The bugger wasn’t distributing the heat evenly, and that in turn gave birth to the overheating issue. Not much of a science brain, but that's what the lads at the garage explained. Thankfully though, it wasn't some apocalyptic issue that would have me sell my kidney. Just had to replace the pesky unit with a new one, and I was good to go. Take your V40 to a trustworthy mechanic . Don't fret too much over last time; we've all had dodgy garage experiences. Cheers!
