2012 Fiat Albea's Battery Drain and Flickering Light Issues

Weak battery when starting the engine

Dim or flickering lights

Hey! I've got a bit of a situation with my 2012 Fiat Albea Gasoline engine, racked up about 192,591 km. My lights have been dimming or flickering recently and every time I start the engine, its like the battery's taking a hit. My guess is some battery sensor problem. Has anyone faced similar problems? And how was your mechanic visit? I'm a little on edge to take it to the shop, thanks to my last nightmare experience. Your thoughts?

Hey there, your hunch is right on the money. I had a similar issue with my 2015 Fiat Tipo, and it turned out to be a faulty battery sensor microprocessor. It's the little chip that monitors your battery’s behavior - when it’s on the fritz, things can get a bit haywire, just like your dimming and flickering lights. That being said, don't sweat it too much. I know it sounds like a headache, but it wasn't that serious at all. My mechanic was able to sort it out without any major complications or parts needing to be replaced. Just remember, it’s always better to get it checked out sooner rather than later. Don’t let that previous bad experience hold you up. Good mechanics are out there, and hopefully this time around you'll have a smoother process. Best of luck!

Hey, thanks for the quick response! Kinda relieved to know it's not that big of a deal as I thought. By any chance, remember what you had to cough up for the fixing? And also, did you face any issues related to this after getting it repaired? Not very thrilled about getting back to the repair shop anytime soon you know. Cheers!

Hey again! I completely understand wanting to avoid unforeseen trips to the mechanic. So, following the fix, my Fiat has been sweet as a nut, no more pesky battery sensor errors. My wallet, though, felt a little lighter as the damage was around 315€. A bit of a hit, I know, but nowhere near as a new car payment would be! And once the battery sensor microprocessor issue was solved, everything went back to normal. So, in my eyes, it was worth the cost to nix that nuisance. Keep us posted on your progress, all right? Good luck!

Wow, 315€, is a pretty penny, but considering the peace of mind it'll offer, I guess it's a reasonable hit. Really glad to hear that your Fiat's been behaving well after the fix. Appreciate the insight and support! You're right, it's high time I stop procrastinating and get it sorted. I'll keep you all in the loop about how things turn out. Fingers crossed for a smooth experience this time. Thanks again, and cheers!
