Hey, cheers for the advice and sharing your experience. It's a relief to know you got your Genesis back in shape, even if it sounds like it was a bit of a challenge. I'm curious though, do you recall around what it set you back, price-wise? And has anything related, or even unrelated, popped up since then that I should brace myself for? Trying to get all the details squared away before I mechanically dive back in! Ta!
Hey there again! Yep, I do remember the costs. To pin a number on it, I shelled out around a cool €1000 for sorting out the darned Transmission Control Unit. Not chump change, but worth every penny to see my Genesis humming along nicely again. And here's the icing on the cake – since that repair, to now, haven’t had any related issues. Touch wood! She's been good as gold since that Transmission Control Unit was fixed by my mechanic. Haven't even had to deal with anything unrelated either, which is always a nice little treat in the world of car ownership, eh? So, it's not all doom and gloom. Just jump into it, and soon enough, you'll have your Equus back to its glory days. Good luck with it, and don't forget to keep us in the loop. Cheers!
Thanks a ton! Hearing your story has definitely eased my mind a bit. It does sound like a fair bit of pocket change, but hey, if it brings my Equus back into line, it'll be worth it. And it's great to hear your Genesis has been running smoothly since then - gives me a good deal of hope! You're right, it's time to dive in and just get it sorted. My dear Equus deserves to be purring like a kitten again. Will surely keep you guys updated on how it goes. Much appreciated. Cheers!
Hey there I reckon I feel your pain quite well. I own a 2015 Hyundai Genesis, I also went through a similar issue not too long ago. Gear shifts were more jumpy than a startled frog and performance was way down. Turns out it was indeed the Transmission Control Unit (TCU) being a right pain. Had my mechanic do a full diagnosis and, lo and behold, the TCU was as defective as a chocolate teapot. The technician performed a complete replacement of the unit. Now, I wouldn't say it was a light or trivial issue, that wretched TCU trouble did have my car behaving all kinds of crazy. But once the replacement was done, she began purring like a kitten again. So in my books, that's a good fix. Since we're not talking numbers here, let me tell you, it did require a herculean effort, but in the end, it was all worth it. So, time to roll up the sleeves and get that TCU checked out good and proper. Hope your Equus will be back to its prime shape soon. Keep us posted, yeah? Cheers!
