2015 Dacia Logan ABS Warning Light Issues and Functional Restriction ASC System Concerns

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

ABS/DSC system is not working

Fault stored

ABS warning light

Hey! I've got a bit of a worry with my 2015 Dacia Logan, petrol engine. The old girl's clocked about 149985 KMs. Recently, my ABS warning light has been flashing, and the ABS/DSC system isn't responding like usual. There's also a unusual warning light on the vehicle’s speedometer and a fault stored. My hunch tells me it might be something to do with the Functional Restriction ASC system. Had a dodgy mechanic experience last time around and needless to say, I'd really rather not go through that again. Curious to hear from anyone who's had a similar issue and how you went about fixing it, and how the trip to the mechanic went? Cheers for any help!

Hey! Had a similar headache with my 2012 Dacia Duster, petrol engine. Similar mileage, same ABS light flashing and funky behaviour from the ABS/DSC system. After a bit of poking around, turned out my suspicions were right, the boffins did find an issue with the Functional Restriction ASC system. Don't worry, it was nothing major to sweat about though. My reliable mechanic ran a few diagnostics and discovered that the problem was due to an ASC relay defect. Yep, he'd seen that before. The solution? He had to replace it. He handled the work with no fuss or fanfare, just straight-up expertise. It was a pretty straightforward repair, nothing too severe. Can't give you the price details, but it was quite reasonable. So, based on my detour, I'd suggest you have a trustworthy mechanic do a thorough check and if the ASC relay's acting up, you're probably looking at a similar fix. Hope this helps you out with your dilemma. Keep us posted and good luck! Safe driving!

Hey there, Wow, your scenario sounds strikingly similar to what I'm dealing with right now. I never would have thought the ASC relay could be behind all this. Whew! Now if only every car problem could be this easily addressed, right? Do you happen to remember how much your mechanic charged for the diagnosis and replacement of that faulty relay? And has your Dacia been acting up in any way since these issues were sorted? I'm just trying to gauge what to expect here. Thanks again for the advice and happy cruising!

Hey! Ah, the wallet sting, the part we all wanna skip! If my memory serves well, eradicating that pesky ASC relay bug from my Dacia cost me around 90€. Pretty palatable figure for giving the old motor a new lease of life, I reckon. As for post-fix behavior, it's been smooth sailing - or rather rolling, ever since. No encore appearances from the ABS warning light or any other drama. ASC issues? Sorted since laying eyes on the trusty mechanic. So, looks like you're in for some similar good news. Keep an open line here, can't wait to hear about the smooth ride, once you've ironed out the wrinkle! Take care and happy motoring!

Hey! Aaah, I see! 90€ sounds pretty reasonable, and manageable within my budget. Bless relief! I was preparing to be out quite a bit more than that. My mind's at ease knowing your post-fix experience has been hassle-free, touch wood it stays that way forever! So, it's looking like a trip to the mechanic for me quite soon. Keeping fingers crossed for a similar smooth sailing, and an ABS drama-free life afterward. Thanks for the heads up. All being well, I'll be back here with an update, hopefully good news, on the Dacia situation soon! Take care, and happy trails for you too!
