2017 Mazda 5 Diesel Convertible Top Malfunction and Warning Light Issues

Hey! I've got a bit of a puzzle with my 2017 Mazda 5, Diesel engine. Lately, the convertible top just won't open or close, plus there's a pesky warning light on the speedometer. I've been thinking it could be an issue with the sunroof not being trained right, but not really sure. Have any of you experienced something similar and got it fixed at a workshop? I'd really appreciate your insights on this, cheers!

Hey there, I dealt with something similar on my 2015 Mazda CX-5, petrol engine. I only have some car knowledge, mostly picked up from dealing with my own ride's issues and a bit of light reading. Took the beastie to my local garage. It turned out there was a problem with some coding on the vehicle. Not gonna pretend I understood it all, but theyaged to sort things out for about 75 Euro. So, I'd recommend getting your car's coding looked at first. Could you let me know if you've tried anything else until now? If not, trust me, getting the pros on it is your best bet. Good luck!

Hey! Thanks for the advice there! I haven't tried anything else yet and was actually on the fence about taking the ol' machine to a professional. Just hit 241508 KM on this bad boy, so I guess it's about time I give 'em a visit. Coding, you say? Hadn't thought of it but it's worth a shot. I'll definitely have it checked. Will keep you posted on how it goes. Appreciate the help, cheers!

Hey! No problem at all, happy to help! It's funny how these rides we love can give us fits sometimes, right? But yep, definitely give the coding thing a shot. At something like 241508 KM, there's bound to be a problem or two every so often. By the way, one thing I forgot to mention is to maybe have them check the convertible top's motor as well. Mine was acting a bit dodgy a while back, not the same problem as yours, but it sounds worthwhile for your situation too. Anyway, good luck with it and do let us know how it goes. Fingers crossed it's something simple and not too pricey! All the best.

Absolutely right, our loved rides do love to challenge us every now and then! I guess that's a part of the whole ownership experience, eh? Thanks for the additional advice. I'll make a point to have 'em check the convertible top's motor, as well. I'll definitely keep you fellas in the loop once I have some updates. Appreciate all the help and good vibes. Cheers and stay safe!
