Hey there, Thanks for sharing your experience, it's really a relief to hear from someone who's been through something similar. Sounds like a right mess with those cable connections on your Logan. Never would've thought that could cause all these issues. Do you happen to recall around how much you had to shell out to get it sorted and if anything similar has cropped up since? Just trying to get a ballpark figure before I dive into this whole ordeal. Thanks again for your advice. Much appreciated!
Hey again, Yeah, it was totally unexpected how those shoddy cable connections wreaked so much havoc. As for costs, you can imagine my relief to find that the repair bill didn't send me broke! The mechanics charged me about 95 € to repair the faulty cable connections. It felt pricey at the time, but given the problems it solved, it was definitely money well spent. Besides, it's a heck of a lot cheaper than buying a new car, right? And good news - since they sorted that out, I haven't had any similar problems. The Low-pressure fuel system sensor, which I originally pinpointed as the culprit, is behaving just fine now. No more exhaust perfume or coughing engine, and the fuel consumption is back to normal too. I'd definitely recommend you get those cables of yours checked out. So, fingers crossed you'll have a similar result with your Sandero. Good luck with it!
Hey! Thanks for getting back. Really used that positivity! It's such a relief to hear your Logan's been sorted and hasn't been giving you any more trouble. Sure seems like those faulty cable connections were the sneaky culprit hiding behind all that chaos. 95 € does sound a bit pricey, but hearing how it fixed so many problems, it seems like a good investment. After all, it sure beats the alternative of getting a whole new car, indeed. And you ending up not having any similar issues since is definitely promising. I'll definitely get those cables checked. Now I feel more prepared for another visit to the mechanic. So, yep, fingers crossed here that it turns out to be a similar fix for my Sandero. Thanks again for all your advice! You've been a great help!
Hey! I had a similar issue with my 2016 Dacia Logan. It was the same idling, cutting out, and that potent smell damn near made my eyes water. It was a nightmare. I initially suspected the Low-pressure fuel system sensor too, just like you. Turns out, it wasn't the sensor, but the Cable connections were defective. They were corroded so badly it was affecting the power distribution. It wasn't the most straightforward problem to diagnose, but once they figured it out, swapping them for new ones took care of the cut-outs, the power loss, and the awful gasoline smell. It was quite a serious problem because it really affected the car's performance and fuel economy. It might not be the exact same solution for your issue, but it wouldn't hurt to have somebody look at your Cable connections. Hope this helps. Good luck with your Sandero!
