Hey, thanks for your response! I see that a defective sensor cable could be my issue as well since our symptoms match spot-on! Glad to hear your Optima started working fine after the replacement. Just trying to get an idea here, do you remember how much it cost you for the fix? And has anything else popped up related to this since the fix? Appreciate your help!
Hey! No problem at all, glad I could help! As for the cost, it set me back by around 110€ to fix that pesky sensor cable connection. Not the cheapest, I know, but it did the trick. Since that fix, I've been all clear - no more messed up signals from the interior temperature sensor or any other related issues. I tell ya, it's been a smooth sail with the temperature control in my ride ever since. So, I'd say it was worth every penny. Try not to fret too much about it, just get it checked out and you'll be back to icy cold air con in no time! Cheers!
Brilliant! Thank you so much for sharing your experience. The €110.0 price tag does pinch a bit, but if it resolves the issue, I reckon it'll definitely be worth it. Better to have a working system without any problems, right? You've been super helpful, and I really appreciate it. I think I have enough information to deal with it when I go to my mechanic this time. Fingers crossed the air con will be blowing freezer-grade air soon. Cheers stay cool!
Hey there, I get what you're saying, had a similar problem with my 2016 Kia Optima. My air con wasn't blowing cold air either, and it was giving me all sorts of headaches. Turned out, it was a defective sensor cable connection causing the temperature misreadings. Dealing with it wasn't as serious as I thought. My mechanic fixed the issue by replacing the sensor connection and recalibrating it to ensure it read the temperature properly. After the replacement, the A/C system started working like a charm again. I'd suggest checking this out in your car as well, might solve the problem. Good luck!
