Hey, Cheers for sharing that. Sounds like you've had quite the journey with your S90. I'm relieved to hear it was all fixed in the end though, seems like a right headache to deal with. It's a bit of a relief to know that some cleaning and elbow grease were what did the trick. I've gotta ask, how much damage did it do to your wallet? Also, has anything else cropped up since you got that fixed? Take it easy!

Hey, Good shout! The intake channels were indeed gritty as hell. Got them cleaned up and you wouldn't believe the difference it made to my Volvo. A world of a difference, I tell you! All that rubbish about smooth running control? Fixed up in one shot after a visit to the mechanic. Now about the expenses. That's where you gotta be prepared to wince a bit. It did a number on my wallet, to the tune of €425. Bit steep, if you ask me, but seeing the old girl run smooth again, priceless, ha! Since then, things have been cruisey. No new surprises, touch wood. The beast's been purring like a kitten and I'm not complaining. So, you have my two cents, hope it helps. Take care, dude!

Hey there, Sure appreciate you sharing your experience. I feel your pain on the steep cost, but it’s good to know that it all worked out for you in the end. 425 quid is more than I'd like to drop, but if it gets the old girl back to her prime, I reckon it's worth every cent. Coping with the car shut-down mid-traffic is not my idea of a good day, after all. Glad to hear nothing else has come up since the fix. Keeping fingers crossed for the same run of good luck my end. Cheers for the advice and you take care, too!

Hey, Well, this sounds like a story I know all too well from my 2017 Volvo S90. My beast was showing similar symptoms: weird engine light, sluggish start-ups, lackluster acceleration... sounds all too familiar. In hindsight, it turned out that the intake channels were pretty mucked up. They were seriously contaminated, - can't even begin to explain how big of a mess it was. I've got to tell you, though, this ain't a quick fix. It's a bit of work. The mechanic had to remove the intake manifold to clean out all the grime and gunk. Once that happened, the car was back up and running like a dream. Better acceleration, no more warning lights, and those cold start issues were gone for good. I was worried about the possibility of having to replace the manifold, but luckily it was salvageable after a solid cleaning. So, might want to have a mechanic take a look at those intake channels. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you! Catch you on the flip side.
