2021 Dacia Sandero's Battery and Lighting Issues: Possible Connection to Emergency Call System?

Hey! I'm having some trouble with my 2021 Dacia Sandero (Gasoline engine), it's clocked about 57,209 KM. Recently been having issues like a weak battery on start, and my lights are giving me the blink-and-dim show. I’m kinda anxious it could be connected to the Emergency call system battery being drained. Last mechanic visit was a bit of a nightmare! Anyone else faced similar issues? How was your mechanic experience? Hook a guy up with some suggestions, please! Cheers!

Hey there, can totally relate to your troubles. I've got a 2021 Dacia Sandero, so the same car as your Sandero. I faced a somewhat identical situation a while back. My Sandero had almost the same mileage, and was also showing similar symptoms as yours, with the battery acting weak and lights going all disco on me. The emergency call system battery was the main culprit indeed. Turns out, it wasn't charging properly due to a faulty alternator, which was not only disrupting the charge, but was also giving nuisance power supply to other electrical components like the lights. It was sorted after they replaced the alternator and the emergency battery. After the repair, she's been running smooth, no more of those annoying light shows or start-up problems. So based on the symptoms you mentioned, it could be a same situation here. I'd suggest getting your alternator and emergency battery checked at the garage. They'll be able to figure out the exact issue and sort everything out. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Hey there! Your plight with your Dacia Sandero sounds remarkably familiar. I had some weird issues with my Sandero as well, not that far off from your descriptions. The alternator-system link described by makes a lot of sense, I reckon that could be the source of your car troubles. Curiously, I also had a bit of a runaround with the mechanic, but eventually all good! Just a quick one for you, if you don't mind sharing, how much did you end up shelling out for the alternator and battery replacement? And have you noticed any more unexpected issues popping up post-repair? Cheers guys!

Heyo! To answer your question about the cost, I parted with 110€ to get the emergency battery fixed up. It was a solid investment, she's been running like a dream since then. As for any unexpected issues post-repair, well, I'm pleased to report that the battery draining problem, along with those pesky light shows, stopped and the car's been behaving itself perfectly well post-repair. The alternator and battery replacement was exactly what she needed. So all in all, a trip to the mechanic and a little cash outflow ended up being the solution. Hope this helps. Cheers, fellas!

Thanks a lot, and! Your experiences have definitely given me a good insight. Seems like the good old alternator and battery replacement could sort this mess out for me. I really appreciate the figure you mentioned. Helps in getting a rough idea of how much fix could hit the pocket. Still, better than being stuck with the blink-and-dim nightmare and the startup issues! I'll get those checked at the garage asap. Cheers guys, who knows, after the repair my Sandero might be as dreamy as your Sandero!
