2021 Seat Tarraco Hybrid's Hands-free Microphone System Not Working

Hey folks, I've got a bit of a situation here with my 2021 Seat Tarraco Hybrid, currently sitting at 139,590 km. Last time I visited the mechanics, it wasn't the best experience ever, so I'm seeking some wisdom from here! My car's not letting me answer calls anymore, so I'm thinking it's probably an issue with the hands-free microphone system. Anyone else ever had a similar problem? How'd your mechanic deal with it? Cheers for any advice!

Summary of the thread

The 2021 Seat Tarraco Hybrid is experiencing issues with its hands-free microphone system, preventing call answering. The problem may not be with the microphone itself but rather with the Infotainment system, as a similar issue was resolved by rebooting or replacing this system. The suggested solution is to have the Infotainment system checked and potentially reset or replaced by a mechanic, which previously resolved similar issues in another vehicle.

Hey there, sounds you've got a pickle there with your Tarraco. I had a similar situation with my 2015 Seat Alhambra last year. Concisely speaking, it wasn't the microphone system causing the problem. Strangely enough, it was the Infotainment system. Before I went to the garage, the symptoms were similar to yours. I couldn't answer calls, use the GPS navigation or even listen to the radio, it was a complete mess. The mechanic diagnosed that the whole Infotainment system was on the fritz. He ended up doing a software reboot for the system and in the most stubborn cases an Infotainment system swap is needed. After the fix, everything went back to normal - answering calls, GPS, radio, all as smooth as ever. No more ignoring calls by accident! So don't worry, it might not be as daunting as it seems. Hope you get that issue fixed soon!

Hey, thanks for sharing that! Your Alhambra's drama sounds pretty much identical to my Tarraco's ruckus. So odd it's not the mic but the Infotainment system screwing things up here. I was wary it might be something more ominous. Can you recall what it set you back when you sorted it out? And since you got it fixed, did any other issue pop up? Appreciate your help!

Hey, glad to hear that my ramblings are of help! When my Alhambra's infotainment system threw a hissy fit, it did set me back a decent chunk - it was 815€ to be exact. Not exactly pocket change, but since the fix, everything's been running smooth as silk. As for the hands-free microphone issue you mentioned earlier, that also got sorted when the mechanic fixed the infotainment system. So, you'll be able to chat away on your calls soon! Haven't had any new glitches since then, fingers crossed it stays that way! Hope your Tarraco shows the same resilience!

Thanks for sharing more details. I admit the cost is a bit of a pinch, but I'm chuffed to hear you haven't had any more trouble. I was lying awake thinking about other irritating glitches popping up post-fix. So it's reassuring, knowing your Alhambra's been in ship shape since then. I guess it's time for me to work up the courage and roll into the garage yet again with my Tarraco! Fingers crossed it'll be the last of my Infotainment system's tantrums. Cheers for the advice and wish me luck! Should I encounter any more puzzling issues or triumphs, I'll be sure to swing by here and update you all about it!
