2022 Dacia Dokker Oil and Warning Light Issues: Seeking Expert Advice

Hey! I've got this 2022 Dacia Dokker, gas engine, clocked about 82983 km so far. Lately, I'm noticing a few odd things. My oil light flicks on, found metal scraps in the oil, plus there's a weird warning light on the speedometer. I'm suspecting a dodgy oil level sensor signal may be at play here due to a previous encounter. Has anyone ever encountered something like this? What was your experience with your mechanic? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts, cheers!

Summary of the thread

A 2022 Dacia Dokker owner is experiencing issues with the oil light flickering, metal scraps in the oil, and a warning light on the speedometer. The suspected cause is a faulty oil level sensor signal, possibly due to a previous encounter with a similar issue. A similar case with a 2019 Dacia Sandero involved tracing the oil level sensor cable connection to resolve the problem. The suggested solution is to have the vehicle checked by a mechanic promptly to address potential engine wear and sensor issues.

Hey there! I feel you. I had a similar issue with my 2019 Dacia Sandero. Thought I was going mad with the light flickering and the strange warning light. Turns out, it was indeed the oil level sensor cable connection, just like you've suspected. Last time I was at the garage, they had to trace the whole line to figure out where the faulty connection was. Yeah, imagine pulling out wires from places you didn't even know existed in the car. Some serious stuff if you ask me, but to make it worse, metal scraps in the oil can mean some serious engine wear. Don't want to scare you off, but you should definitely get it checked. However, don't worry too much. After a bit of grunt work from the mechanic, my Sandero's running without a hitch. Hope it all goes well for your Dokker!

Thanks a ton! You're spot on. I was suspecting the same thing about the oil level sensor. Your experience confirms it and this is exactly what I feared, serious engine wear. I'm definitely getting my Dokker checked with no delay. By the way, do you remember how much you ended up shelling out at the garage for this? And just curious, did anything else crop up in your Sandero after the fix? Cheers.

Hey, glad to hear you're getting your Dokker checked out. As for the cost, fixing the oil level sensor cable connection set me back about 165 Euro, but believe me, it was money well spent - the peace of mind after knowing the cause was priceless. Post fix, my Sandero has been humming like a charm, no grumbles since. Haven't seen another warning light since the mechanic had his way with it. And talk about luck, the faulty oil level sensor signal hasn't shown up either. A well-sorted ride, touch wood. I reckon keep an eye on it even after fixing it. Helps to nip any potential miseries in the. Take care of your Dokker, and it'll take care of you! Cheers!

Cheers! Feels great hearing your Sandero's running smooth as butter after the fix. I'm relieved, to be honest. And seriously, 165 Euro for getting rid of the nightmares and enjoying peace of mind - I'd say that's a good deal! I completely agree about keeping a close eye even post-fix. Nowadays, with all the tech we've got, it still boils down to us being vigilant owners. Thanks again for sharing your experience. I'm gonna have my Dokker checked out as soon as possible, hoping not to spot that damn light again. Take care!
