2024 Seat Tarraco Hybrid's Navigation and Audio System Failure: Forum Discussion on Antenna Issues and Solutions

Hi guys, I've been having a weird issue with my 2024 Seat Tarraco Hybrid. Both the navigation and audio systems have stopped working altogether. I suspect there might be a problem with the car's antenna causing poor radio reception, but can't tell for sure. Any others who have faced something similar with their Tarraco? How did your workshop diagnose and fix this? I'd appreciate any experiences or tips you can share. Cheers!

Summary of the thread

A 2024 Seat Tarraco Hybrid owner is experiencing a failure in both the navigation and audio systems, suspecting a problem with the car's antenna. Another individual shared a similar experience with a 2022 Seat Ateca, where a defective antenna was identified as the cause of poor radio reception and unstable Bluetooth connections. The suggested solution is to have the antenna checked and possibly replaced, alongside considering a general vehicle tune-up due to high mileage since the last service.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey! I can understand your struggle. I've dealt with a very similar issue on my 2022 Seat Ateca. I don't consider myself a car expert, just have some experience from dealing with a couple of issues before. I took my Ateca to a local repair shop and the guys there were great. They ran a couple of tests and found that the antenna was actually defective and that was messing with the radio and navigation systems. Took them a while, but they fixed it right up. Cost me about 255 Euro, but all things considered, it was worth it to have my sounds and directions back. By any chance, do you know if your Tarraco had any issues with its Bluetooth or WiFi connections as well? That could is a common sign for antenna issues. More details would help narrow things down for you. Hope this helps a bit! Cheers!

Hey! Thanks for your response and tips. I did notice some issues with Bluetooth, the connection was a bit unstable. The last time I had a proper service was a while ago, at 145272 KM. Guess it's time for a checkup! I'll make sure to mention the antenna issue. The 255 Euro price tag though, ouch! But hey, if it solves the issue, then it's worth it. Will let you know how my visit to the workshop goes. Cheers!

No worries, happy to help! Yep, the Bluetooth issue kind of confirms it could be the antenna causing trouble. I'd bet on that. Those dodgy Bluetooth connections were pretty much one of the main symptoms I had too. Certainly, 255 Euro isn't little money, but, it’s way better to drive around without any of that frustration, trust me on this one. At one point, I was about ready to toss the whole system! Your mileage also seems a bit high since the last service, so it may just be time for a general tune-up on top of the antenna fix. Might end up saving you a bigger headache down the line. Looking forward to hearing back from you after the workshop. Fingers crossed it’s nothing more serious! Drive safe. Cheers!

Thanks again for your advice. Seems like the symptoms match up quite a bit, so I'll go on a limb and say you're right about the antenna issue. And you're right, at this point getting rid of the issues is more of a priority. I may have pushed the servicing a bit too far indeed. I'll get it all checked up, a general tune-up sounds like a solid plan. I'll drop in an update here after my visit to the workshop. Hope it's nothing too wild. Take care and thanks for the quick help. Cheers!
