350Z Brake Light Issue

I've got a 2007 Nissan 350Z with a gasoline engine and 94720 km on it. My brake lights aren't working right, and I'm getting an error message on the dash. The OBD II scanner also shows an error. Think it could be the brake light switch? Bulbs look fine.

I have a 350Z as well. I had a similar issue a while back. Did you check the brake pedal position sensor? Sometimes that can cause the brake lights to act up. It is located near the brake pedal.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not too familiar with the brake pedal position sensor. Is it hard to get to and check? Where exactly is it near the brake pedal, and what should I look for?

I am not 100% sure, but it is somewhere near the brake pedal, yes. If you are unsure, it may be best to get it checked by a workshop.

It was the brake light switch, like I thought. Replaced it myself, and the problem's gone. No more error message, and the brake lights are working again. Cost me 0€ since I did it myself.
