350Z Poor Fuel Economy and Starting Issues

Hi, I've got a 2005 Nissan 350Z with a gasoline engine, around 139k kilometers on the clock. Lately, I've noticed higher fuel consumption and it's been a pain to start. Read the codes and it points to a defective throttle valve. Thinking it might be the accelerator pedal module. Anyone else run into this?

Summary of the thread

A 2005 Nissan 350Z owner is experiencing poor fuel economy and starting issues, with diagnostic codes indicating a defective throttle valve. The problem might be related to the throttle position sensor or the accelerator pedal module. After consulting with others, the owner replaced the accelerator pedal module, resolving the starting issues.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Yo, I had something similar with my 350Z. Rough starts and the gas mileage tanked. Like trying to run a marathon with clown shoes. Check your throttle position sensor, dude.

Throttle position sensor, huh? Where's that located exactly, and is it a pain to replace?

Yeah man, TPS. It's on the throttle body itself. I didn't mess with it myself; took it straight to the shop. They said the module was shot and charged me 205€. Best to get it checked to be sure.

Appreciate the info. Sounds like that's the likely culprit. I'll get it looked at. Ended up being the accelerator pedal module and the workshop charged me 205€ to replace it. Starts like a charm now.
