350Z Transmission Limp Mode

Alright Z-heads, I'm pulling my hair out here. My 2009 Nissan 350Z with the gasoline engine is throwing me curveballs. Got 205064 km on the clock. The transmission indicator, and check engine lights are both on, and it's stuck in limp mode. The automatic transmission is shifting all kinds of wonky, slipping, and making these awful grinding noises. I pulled the codes and it's pointing towards a radiator oil pressure issue. I'm leaning towards a dodgy cable or plug connection. Anyone else seen this gremlin?

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms with my 350Z. Transmission acting up, lights on... Have you checked the pressure sensor connection? I remember that being a potential culprit.

Yeah, I wiggled the connector a bit, but didn't see anything obvious. You mean the one on the radiator? Was it visibly damaged when you had the problem?

Yep, that's the one. It wasn't visibly damaged in my case, but the connection was loose and corroded. It might be worth cleaning the contacts and making sure it's properly seated. However, considering your other symptoms, I’d advise you to let a workshop check it out.

Roger that. Cleaned the connector, no dice. Bit the bullet and took it to the shop. Turns out it was a faulty pressure sensor and a bad connection, like we thought. New sensor, wiring cleaned up, and it cost me 95€ Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
