4007 Transmission Control Unit Failure

Alright, I'm pulling my hair out here! My 2012 Peugeot 4007 diesel is throwing a tantrum with 138001 km on the clock. The main issue is that the transmission control unit seems totally borked. The paddle shifters are completely unresponsive, and the gearbox is slipping like crazy, making awful grinding noises when it even attempts to shift. The paddle shifters feel like they're operating in slow motion when they rarely do work, and now the whole thing's stuck in emergency mode. The error memory is lit up like a Christmas tree. From what I can gather, it's the control unit that's given up the ghost. Anyone else had this delightful experience?

I had something similar happen with my 4007. Shifting became erratic, and the gearbox felt like it was fighting itself. I didn't have paddle shifters to test, but the symptoms sound awfully familiar. Did you get any specific error codes related to the transmission control system?

Yeah, tons of codes! All pointing toward the transmission control unit being the main culprit, basically saying it's defective. Did your issue also resolve from replacing the entire unit?

It sounds identical, unfortunately. Considering the diagnostic information and the problems that you described, I am pretty sure that a visit to a workshop won't hurt. They should be able to diagnose the precise reason for the issue. It looks like you are out of options. Best of luck!

Right, that's what I feared. Thanks for confirming my suspicions! Took it to the shop, and you called it – control unit was toast. Cost me a cool 1000€, but at least it's shifting smoothly again. Appreciate the input!
