406 Cruise Control Failure

My Peugeot 406 (2001, diesel) cruise control suddenly stopped working. The speedometer displays an error message, and the cruise control is completely unresponsive. An error is also stored. Could a defective cable or plug connection be the reason?

I had a similar issue with my 406. Check the throttle body connections. Faulty system errors can pop up if those are loose or corroded. Also, give the steering wheel controls a once-over; sometimes they can cause cruise control failures. Any recent work done near those areas?

The error was very similar, cruise control light on, but nothing happening when engaged. I'd suggest getting proper diagnostics done, could save you some time. If you aren't comfortable poking around, a workshop might be the best bet.

I appreciate the input. It seems a trip to the shop is in order. The error was caused by a defective plug connection. Repair cost was 95€. Thank you again!
