4Runner AC and climate control issues

I've got a 2008 Toyota 4Runner with a diesel engine and only 66755 km on it. Recently, the air conditioning stopped cooling properly, and I'm getting an error stored in the error memory, plus the climate control seems a bit off. Could a defective cable or plug connection be the culprit, and has anyone else dealt with a rear ventilation flap fault?

Interesting. I own a 4Runner as well, and your issues sound suspiciously similar to what I experienced last year. Was there also any malfunction of the climate control unit while this problem was active? Did you ever have issues with the air circulation?

Yep, the climate control is definitely acting up, and now that you mention it, the air circulation seems weaker than usual. What exactly was the cause of your similar issue? Any chance it's just a fuse or something simple?

While a fuse is always a possibility, based on your symptoms, it does sound like the rear ventilation flap actuator might be the problem. Unfortunately, it's probably not a simple fix. My recommendation? Visit a trusted workshop.

Thanks, that's really helpful! So, after visiting the workshop, it was indeed the flap actuator, and the entire repair cost 95€. It really was a defective cable or plug connection of the component. Cheers!
