4Runner Active Hood Fault

Hey, I'm having an issue with my 2017 4Runner, gasoline engine. The computer says "Active hood fault," and the airbag light is on. I scanned the error memory, and it seems the spring actuators have been triggered. Anyone seen this before? I'm guessing it's a bad acceleration sensor, but any ideas before I dig in? It's pretty unnerving!

The active hood fault, airbag warning, and triggered actuators definitely point to the acceleration sensor. Has the 4Runner been in any minor fender-benders or instances of hard braking that might have falsely triggered the system?

Thanks! No accidents or hard braking. Could a surge or glitch cause this, or is a bad sensor more likely?

Since there were no external factors and the error is consistent, a bad sensor is the more likely culprit. It's probably giving incorrect readings. I'd get it checked by a shop. Driving with this fault might mess with the safety system. I wouldn't DIY safety-critical systems.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a shop, and the acceleration sensor was indeed bad. Total cost was 315€. Thanks again for confirming my suspicions and pointing me to a pro. This community is awesome!
