4Runner rail pressure sensor issue

I'll give the wiring a look tomorrow when there's more light. You mention 'false readings' - did you get the same fault code as me? And did replacing the sensor solve the problem, or was there more to it?

Yes, the fault code was the same. I checked all the wiring myself, cleaning the connectors, however, the issue persisted, so I took it to a trusted workshop to have it checked by a professional. It turned out that the pressure sensor was defective and needed to be replaced. I know that it cost around 240€, but I don't remember the exact price. Considering the symptoms and the fault code you're getting, a defective sensor is the most likely cause.

I replaced the fuel rail pressure sensor, and so far, so good. The engine light's gone, it idles smoothly, and all the horses seem to have returned. Hopefully that's the end of it. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!

I had a similar saga with my 4Runner. I didn't experience the stalling, but the engine light and power loss were definitely there. It felt like the engine was being choked. Have you checked the wiring to the sensor? Sometimes a loose or corroded connection can cause false readings.
