4Runner Sun Blind Defective
Summary of the thread
The sun blind in a 2013 Toyota 4Runner is defective, as it no longer retracts or extends and appears stuck. There is no noise when attempting to operate it, and an error is stored in the error memory. Possible causes include a blown fuse or a defective motor. A suggested solution is to check the fuse first, and if that is not the issue, visiting a workshop for a motor replacement may be necessary.

Thanks for your response. No, there is no noise at all when I try to operate it, just nothing. I didn't check the fuse yet; I will look into that. Can you remember what the problem was in your case?

Alright, so mine was exactly the same, no noise at all. I checked the fuse first, but it was fine. Eventually, it turned out that the motor of the sunblind was defective. I ended up having to take it to a workshop. They replaced the whole thing.

Okay, thank you for the information. Sounds like I'm facing a similar issue. I will check the fuse, but it probably makes sense to visit a workshop in my case as well. I've already checked the potential repair costs; it is likely to be around 330€.

Hey there! I drive a 4Runner too, and something similar happened to me with my car sunshade. What a pain! Is it making any noise when you try to operate it, or is it totally dead? Mine was making a weird clicking sound before it gave up completely. Did you check the fuse?
