5008 Camshaft Sensor Malfunction

I own a 2022 Peugeot 5008 with a gasoline engine. I am experiencing a camshaft sensor malfunction, resulting in poor vehicle starting, diminished engine output, and an error code stored within the system's memory. I suspect a faulty cable or plug.

Hey, I had something similar with my 5008. Check engine light came on, felt sluggish. Was it throwing any specific codes? Could be a crank position sensor issue too, those things sometimes cross-talk. Worth a look-see!

Can you elaborate on your experience? Did the symptoms manifest similarly, and was the resolution related to the camshaft sensor, or was it indeed the crankshaft?

Yeah the symptoms were super similar - felt like it was being choked. I tried cleaning the MAF sensor at first, but no dice. Eventually, bit the bullet and took it to the shop - turned out to be the camshaft sensor after all. They cleared the code and replaced the sensor. Runs great now. Best to get it diagnosed properly rather than chasing ghosts!
