607 Alarm System Fault

Okay, Peugeot 607 experts, I'm tearing my hair out! My 2008 Peugeot 607 diesel has developed a really annoying problem. The alarm system seems completely dead – no chirp when locking, no panic alarm, nothing. I scanned it with my reader and it's showing a 'siren communication fault' stored in the error memory, plus telling me the alarm system is without function. I've had a quick look at the siren wiring but couldn't see anything obvious. Anyone experienced this before?

I had a similar issue with my 607, though mine's a bit older. Siren communication fault, you say? Check the connector on the alarm controller itself. I had a corroded pin that was causing all sorts of grief. Is there any sign of water ingress near the controller?

Thanks for the tip! Where exactly is the alarm controller located on the 607? Is it easy to get to, or am I going to be dismantling half the car to find it?

As far as I remember it is located in the right rear side behind the fender covering. Access is quite inconvenient, so it is best to let the workshop tackle this issue. It will probably be a defective cable or a bad plug connection.

I took it to my local garage and it was indeed a corroded connector on the alarm siren, just as you suspected. They cleaned it up and quoted me 95€ for the job. All sorted, thanks so much for pointing me in the right direction. You saved me hours of frustration!
