607 Automatic Transmission Problem

My 2008 Peugeot 607 diesel is having automatic transmission issues at 189341 km. The transmission indicator light is on, and it's not shifting correctly, often going into emergency mode. Could it be worn transmission oil?

Yes, undervoltage was the problem for me. The garage traced it to a faulty sensor. I'd suggest having the electrical system checked before assuming it's the transmission itself.
