607 Power Steering Faulty Connector
Summary of the thread
A 2001 Peugeot 607 diesel is experiencing power steering issues, with symptoms including a vibrating steering wheel, spongy handling, and increased steering effort. The problem is suspected to be a defective cable or plug connection. A similar case confirmed that a faulty connection was the cause, and the recommended solution is to have the wiring and connections checked at a workshop. The issue was resolved by fixing the faulty connector.

It's happening all the time. Haven't checked the fluid level yet. What was the problem with yours?

Mine turned out to be a faulty connection, just as you suspected. If it's happening constantly, it's less likely to be the pump itself. Honestly, get it to a workshop and have them check the wiring and connections. It's the most likely culprit given the symptoms and error code.

Thanks for the info. Turns out you were spot on - faulty connector. Cost me 95€ to fix.

Sounds familiar. I've got a 607 too, and had similar issues. Was it only happening at certain speeds or all the time? Did you check the fluid level in the power steering reservoir?
