806 Bumper Antenna Issues

My 2000 Peugeot 806, gasoline engine, is throwing a weird one. The bumper antenna is causing grief. Getting an error stored in the memory, central locking is acting up, and sometimes it won't start without the key jammed in the ignition. Suspect it's the cable or plug connection to the antenna itself. Anyone seen similar?

Sounds familiar. Had a similar gremlin in my old Saab 9-3. Symptoms were almost identical, although the Saab used a roof antenna. Check the connections for corrosion, especially the ground. Bad grounds cause havoc with these systems.

Right, ground issue. Makes sense. Did yours throw any specific codes, or was it just a general 'antenna fault' kind of thing? And was it definitely the antenna connection, or did you chase other ghosts first?

The Saab threw a generic RF interference code, which led me down a rabbit hole initially. After checking everything else, I found the antenna base connector corroded to hell. Replacing it fixed everything, though I'd still advise a workshop visit to be sure.

Appreciate the insight. I'll give the connections a proper look-over. If that doesn't sort it, it's going in. Quote was 95€ for a new antenna and fitting, so not the end of the world.
