Hey, yeah your Cayman problem sounds spot on with what I'm experiencing. Really glad to hear it got sorted with the carbon filter replacement! I'm planning to get mine looked at this week. Quick question, do you remember roughly how much the repair set you back? Also, has everything been running smoothly since then, or have you noticed any other quirks pop up? Thanks for the help!

Hey again! Good to hear you're getting it checked out! Yeah, I can tell you exactly what it cost me, just had it fixed last week actually. The total came to 275€ for replacing the activated carbon filter. Worth every penny though, my Cayman's running like a dream now! Since getting the tank ventilation system sorted, it's been absolutely perfect. No more of those annoying symptoms, the rough idle and power drops are completely gone. It's back to being the smooth, responsive beast it should be. Haven't noticed a single quirk since the repair. Honestly, it was such a relief to get it fixed. These cars are amazing when everything's working right, aren't they? Just make sure you go to someone who really knows Porsches, it makes all the difference. Let me know how yours turns out! Cheers!

Hey! Just wanted to give you an update, you were absolutely right! Took my 991 to a Porsche specialist yesterday, and guess what? Same exact issue as your Cayman, clogged carbon filter. Got it replaced, and the difference is like night and day! The whole thing cost me about 300€, which wasn't too bad considering how much better the car runs now. The idle is smooth as silk, no more power drops, and that annoying check engine light is finally off. The mechanic was great too, really knew his stuff and explained everything clearly. Funny how we had the same problem! Really appreciate you sharing your experience, helped me feel more confident about getting it sorted. Car's running perfectly now, just like you said it would. Thanks again for all your help! Cheers!

Hey there, I had similar issues with my 2014 Porsche Cayman S last year. The symptoms you're describing are exactly what I experienced, the rough idle, power loss, and CEL. Turned out to be a faulty activated carbon filter in the EVAP system. Took it to my local Porsche specialist, and they diagnosed it properly on the first try. The carbon filter was completely clogged, which was messing with the fuel system ventilation. They replaced the filter and purge valve as a preventive measure. Not a hugely complex job, but definitely needs someone who knows these cars well. The repair solved all the issues, no more shaking, stalling, or power drops. It's been running smooth ever since. I'd recommend getting it checked soon though, as running it like this could potentially cause other problems down the line. Hope this helps!
