A Klasse clutch pedal switch issues

My 2016 Mercedes A Klasse with a gasoline engine is showing a clutch pedal switch error at 98443 km. The gear selection display is dead, cruise control won't work, and sometimes the engine won't start. I suspect the clutch pedal switch or a bad cable connection. Could this be causing all these ignition and electrical faults? Has anyone had gear selector or starting issues like this? I'm estimating the repair at 95€.

Sounds familiar! I drive an A Klasse too, and I had similar symptoms a while back. A faulty clutch switch can definitely cause havoc with the gear selector and starting. Did you check the connection?

I checked the connection as best I could. It looks seated correctly, and there's no obvious damage to the wiring. But beyond that, I'm stumped. Was your issue definitely the switch itself or the wiring? What did you do to fix it?

Mine was the switch. I remember the mechanic saying it was affecting some safety mechanism. I just took it straight to the shop. Getting it checked out by a professional might be best. These electrical faults can be tricky.

Thanks! Your experience confirms my suspicions. I'll take it to the workshop. The symptoms are too intertwined to ignore, especially the starting issue. Hopefully, it's a simple fix.
