A Klasse electronic parking brake issue
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Mercedes A Klasse is experiencing issues with its electronic parking brake, which is non-functional and logging errors. The problem might be due to a failed electric motor in the brake caliper, potentially costing around 500€ to fix. Diagnostics suggest a brake sensor issue and a general brake fault. Checking fuses was suggested but did not resolve the issue, leading to the recommendation of visiting a certified workshop for further assistance.

Fuses? I hadn't considered that. Is there a specific fuse location I should be checking? Or were there any other symptoms you saw before the whole thing failed?

Yes, the symptoms were quite similar to what you described. Unfortunately, checking the fuses did not resolve the issue for me, and I had to take it to a certified workshop. I would recommend that you do the same.

Thanks for the advice. I was hoping to avoid the garage, but it sounds like that's the only option left. I'll book it in and hopefully, that'll be the end of it. I appreciate you sharing your experience.

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you are experiencing. I also own an A Klasse and have had similar difficulties. Have you checked the relevant fuses?
