A Klasse electronic parking brake issue

My A Klasse is acting up. It's a 2009 Mercedes A Klasse with a gasoline engine and about 48000 km. The electronic parking brake is completely useless, there's an error logged, and the speedo's lit up. I reckon it's the electric motor in the brake caliper that's failed, potentially costing around 500€ to fix. Has anyone else had this parking brake system glitch? Brake diagnostics point to a brake sensor issue and a general brake fault. I'm stumped about brake control.

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you are experiencing. I also own an A Klasse and have had similar difficulties. Have you checked the relevant fuses?

Fuses? I hadn't considered that. Is there a specific fuse location I should be checking? Or were there any other symptoms you saw before the whole thing failed?

Yes, the symptoms were quite similar to what you described. Unfortunately, checking the fuses did not resolve the issue for me, and I had to take it to a certified workshop. I would recommend that you do the same.

Thanks for the advice. I was hoping to avoid the garage, but it sounds like that's the only option left. I'll book it in and hopefully, that'll be the end of it. I appreciate you sharing your experience.
