A Klasse keyless entry not working
Summary of the thread
The keyless entry on a 2006 A Klasse was not functioning despite replacing the key fob battery. The issue persisted with error messages, suggesting a deeper problem. It was resolved by taking the car to a workshop, where an error stored in the memory was cleared, restoring the keyless entry functionality.

It's a 2006 A Klasse with a gasoline engine and about 220063 km on the clock. I did try replacing the fob battery in my key fob with a new one, but the keyless access still doesn't work and I'm still getting the error. Any other thoughts?

Ugh, that's a bummer! If a battery replacement didn't fix it, and you're still getting error messages, it might be something more serious. When mine did that, it turned out there was an error stored in the memory and the unlocking/locking wasn't working properly. I ended up taking it to a workshop. They said something about needing to reset or reprogram the key. It might be worth getting it checked out, especially if you're not comfortable messing with the electronics.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop and you were right, there was an error stored. They cleared it and it's working fine now. Cost me 37€ for the check and reset. Appreciate the help!

I know this feeling! I have an A Klasse as well and had a similar thing happen a few months back. My keyless entry just stopped working and I kept getting a warning about a low key battery. Did you try changing the battery in your key yet? That's the first thing I'd check. It's usually a CR2025 or something like that. Super easy to replace yourself. What year is yours?
