Thanks for your detailed response. The symptoms you described match my situation exactly, especially the engine misfire and rough idle problems. My A4 has been driving me crazy with these fuel delivery issues. Did you remember roughly how much the total repair cost you? And have you experienced any similar problems since getting it fixed? Just trying to get an idea of what to expect cost-wise and whether this tends to be a permanent fix or if I should watch out for the issue returning. The tip about the fuel pump relay is particularly helpful since my mechanic never mentioned checking that component. Would be great to hear if everything has been running smoothly since your repair.

Good news, no fuel delivery problems since I got mine fixed a few months back. The mechanic found my main issue was actually just a loose connection to the fuel pressure sensor, not the sensor itself being faulty. Total repair came to 95 Euro which was mostly labor costs to trace and fix the cable connection. The check engine light hasnt come back and the engine runs perfectly smooth now, no more stalling or rough idle issues. Much simpler fix than I initially expected, especially after assuming Id need a complete fuel system overhaul. Worth mentioning that proper diagnosis made all the difference. While fuel pump and injector issues are common on these models, sometimes its just a simple electrical connection causing all the symptoms. The key is finding someone who will thoroughly check the entire fuel system rather than just replacing parts. My engine stalling problems completely disappeared after they secured that loose sensor connection. Its been running like new since then with no hints of the previous fuel delivery issues returning.

Finally got the car sorted out! Took it to a different mechanic who actually spent time diagnosing the problem instead of just throwing parts at it. Turns out the fuel pressure sensor connector was damaged and corroded, causing intermittent connection issues. Also found a cracked vacuum line that was contributing to the rough idle. Total bill came to 180 Euro, higher than your repair but still way better than I expected. They cleaned the connector, replaced the damaged wiring, and fixed the vacuum line. The check engine light is finally off and the engine runs perfectly smooth now. No more jerking during acceleration or stalling at idle. Really glad I asked here before spending money replacing the entire sensor. The engine misfire issues are completely gone and fuel delivery is back to normal. My previous mechanic wanted to replace the whole fuel pump without even checking the wiring, dodged a bullet there!

Had similar issues with my 2006 Audi A6 2.0T. The symptoms match exactly what you describe, rough running, stalling, and jerking during acceleration. While the fuel pressure sensor was the initial suspect, diagnostics revealed multiple problems in the fuel delivery system. The main culprit turned out to be contaminated fuel injectors and a failing fuel pump relay. The engine misfire was happening because of irregular fuel delivery patterns. The repair involved cleaning the fuel injectors, replacing the relay, and checking all associated wiring connections. This is typically a serious issue that requires proper diagnostic equipment to pinpoint the exact cause. In my case, cleaning the injectors improved fuel economy significantly, but the stalling persisted until the relay was replaced. Worth noting that A4s from that generation commonly develop these fuel delivery issues once they age. Suggest getting a complete fuel system diagnosis rather than just replacing the pressure sensor, as these symptoms often indicate multiple related problems. Clean fuel injectors and properly functioning sensors are crucial for maintaining steady fuel pressure and preventing engine misfire issues.
