Thanks for sharing your experience. I had nearly identical symptoms on my A7 last month. Good to hear that replacing the servomotor and fixing the electrical connectors solved your problem. Did you remember roughly how much the repair cost? Since this seems like a recurring issue with these models, I wonder if you had any other electrical problems pop up after getting it fixed? Currently debating if I should just get both headlight units replaced while its in the shop to prevent future issues with the beam adjustment system. The range control warnings on my dash are particularly annoying, especially during night driving when the light intensity keeps fluctuating. Would be great to hear how your repair has held up.

Thanks for asking about the repair costs. After getting it fixed last month, I can confirm the headlight malfunction has been completely resolved. The range control warnings disappeared right after they replaced the defective servomotor, which ended up costing 1040 Euro including labor and recalibration. The lighting system has been working flawlessly since the repair. The light intensity stays consistent now, and the beam adjustment operates exactly as it should. No more warning messages or erratic behavior from the control module. Regarding your question about replacing both headlight units, based on my experience, this might be unnecessary if only one side is showing issues. The servomotor replacement solved the problem completely, and I havent seen any electrical issues since the repair. The diagnostic testing showed the rest of the lighting components were in good condition. The mechanic explained that these adaptive systems rarely fail on both sides simultaneously unless theres a central control module issue.

I finally took my A7 to the dealer last week for the headlight malfunction. The auto-leveling system was completely out of sync, making night driving pretty risky. After a thorough diagnostic check, they found issues with both the servomotor and electrical connectors. Total repair came to 890 Euro, which included: New servomotor installation, Electrical connector repairs, Full system recalibration, Software update for the lighting system The adaptive headlights are working perfectly now. Light intensity stays consistent and the range control is spot on. No more dashboard warnings or erratic beam adjustments. Really glad I got it sorted before winter. The technician mentioned they see this issue occasionally on newer models. Apparently, its often linked to the control module getting confused by minor electrical fluctuations. They assured me the fix should last, as they used upgraded connectors that are more resistant to corrosion. For anyone else facing similar problems, definitely worth getting it checked early. The repair was much simpler than I expected, and the car feels so much safer to drive now.

Had similar issues with my 2020 A5 Sportback. The adaptive headlight system failed due to a defective servomotor in the headlight assembly. The beam adjustment was completely misaligned, causing erratic light patterns and constant warnings on the dashboard. The root cause was a combination of faulty electrical connectors and a malfunctioning headlight control module. The repair required: Complete diagnostic scan of the headlight system, Replacement of the servomotor, Testing all electrical connectors, Recalibration of the adaptive lighting system, Reprogramming the headlight control module Its quite a complex repair since the adaptive headlights involve multiple electronic components working together. The light intensity issues often indicate problems with the range control sensors, which also needed adjustment during the repair. This is a serious issue that needs immediate attention, as improper headlight function creates safety risks. The problem wont resolve itself and typically gets worse over time. Would recommend having it checked at a dealer since they have the specific diagnostic equipment for the adaptive headlight system. Given your low mileage, this should be covered under warranty. The headlight switch and control module should be thoroughly tested as they often contribute to these symptoms.
