ABS and DSC difficulties with 2018 Renault Talisman.
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
The 2018 Renault Talisman is experiencing issues with the ABS and DSC systems, where the brake pedal is unresponsive, and warning lights are illuminated. A faulty brake pedal position sensor is suspected as a potential cause. Solutions include replacing the sensor and possibly the ABS control unit, which resolved similar issues for others. The repairs can be costly and time-consuming, but they ultimately restore the vehicle's functionality.

Man, that's really annoying, guy. Sounds a bit like a buddy of mine who had similar stress with a Laguna. But let's take a quick look: Do you remember what you left with the mechanic to sort the whole thing out? And have you noticed anything new since then or is the car still acting up?

Hey, I totally hear you, buddy. It really was a challenge. I had to leave €1000 with the mechanic for the ECU fault. Bitter pill, I know. But don't worry, since then the car has been in top form again and runs like a gazelle. The brake pedal position sensor, which originally had no function, has also been working perfectly since the mechanic repaired it. Since then, the car hasn't had any more problems. That's a real relief. These repairs are always about trust and having a good mechanic on hand. I hope that helps you, dude.

Thanks for the info, guys. It was a bit different for me. My mechanic checked the brake pedal position sensor and found it to be faulty. We had to order a new part, which took a while. Then the sensor was replaced, it cost €300. The ABS and DSC problem was a bit trickier. They had to do some tests, but in the end it was the ABS control unit. They replaced it and the new one wasn't cheap either, about 700€. But at least everything is working properly again now. All in all, the whole drama cost me €1000 and a few days of my life. But now that everything is working, it's worth it. Hope my experience helps someone in the future. Stay safe, guys, and take care of your cars!

Hey, I feel you man. Also had a similar shit with my 2015 Renault Mégane, diesel, loud noises, ABS and DSC went crazy. Turns out for me the problem was the ECU, defective. Not cool at all, right. Yes, it was a serious problem, my car was literally being a bitch. Had to replace a few parts, mainly the ABS control unit and the brake sensor module. The mechanic also had to test and reprogram the DSC module. This was not a quick fix, took a few days because it took some time to get the parts. It's hard to tell if we're talking about the exact same problem, but the symptoms sound very similar. You'd be better off going back to your mechanic and telling him exactly what's going on with you. Hopefully it's not as serious as mine. Good luck buddy.
